The election is planned to be held in December this year or in January 2026 at the earliest, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said. He made the remarks in a press release after meeting with President Alexander Lukashenko at the Presidential Palace in Minsk, Belarus, in the afternoon on March 7 local time.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that 53 political parties have registered to contest the elections and invited observation teams from Belarus to observe the elections. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with President Alexander Lukashenko exclusively, held bilateral talks and conferred the title of Agga Maha Thray Sithu on President Alexander Lukashenko.
