Some political parties have said that an all-inclusive conference should be held before the election, and Dr Aye Maung, chairman of the Arakan Front Party (AFP), said if such a conference could be held, it could directly or indirectly benefit the election.
An all-inclusive talk is likely to ease the current tensions. U Sai Aik Paung, chairman of the Shan Nationalities Democratic Party, also known as White Tiger Party, said that it would be better if all EAOs could participate in such a meeting and that he is confident that if ethnic national brethren hold talks and negotiate among themselves, there will be a success.
People’s Party Chairman U Ko Ko Gyi has said that an all-inclusive discussion will continue to be held before and beyond the election. Currently, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has said during his visit to Russia that efforts are being made to be able to hold the election in December this year or January 2026 at the earliest. The Senior General also said at the SAC meeting held on March 25 that it was planned to exercise the proportional representation (PR) system in the constituencies for the Amyotha Hluttaw and Region and State Hluttaws.
