Secretary of the State Administration Council General Aung Lin Dwe urged judges under the Union Supreme Court to make efforts to make the judiciary respected not only in ASEAN but also in the world.
He made the remarks at the ceremony to open the Judicial College building at the Union Supreme Court in Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, on January 2.
It is a day of pride and happiness not only for the judiciary pillar but also for the country as the new Judicial College, the first institution for higher judicial education in Myanmar, could be opened, General Aung Lin Dwe said. He also said that it would be used as a place for learning, discussing and teaching not only for foreign trainees but also for new judges, mid-level judges and senior judges from Myanmar and that he believed that it would be used effectively to improve the skills of each judge.
The Government have built new High Court buildigs in Mandalay Region and Mon State as well as five new district courts, he added.
