Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife and family donated 200 million kyats to State Ovadacariya 16th Shwegyin Sangharaja Chancellor of Sitagu International Buddhist Academies Abhidhaja Maharatthaguru Abhidhaja Aggahama Saddhammajotika Dr Bhaddanta Nyanissara and the families of the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) 1500 tons of cement, according to a press release.
The donation was made on April 19 to be used in renovation and reservation tasks of pagodas and stupas damaged by the Mandalay earthquake.
They all shared merits gained from the donations dedicated to members of the Sangha, nuns and people who lost lives in the earthquake.
In addition, the SAC Chairman visited the collllasped Inwa Bridge of Sagaing, inspected the damage caused by the earthquake in the city of Sagaing and the rehabilitation tasks being carried out and provided necessary assistance.
After that, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected the damage caused by the earthquake to the Buddha images and instructed officials to carry out the renovation and restoration work in accordance with the original shapes.
