STORY: Republican U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump criticized Kamala Harris’ economic strategy during a press conference at his New Jersey golf club on Thursday (August 15).
The former president suggested that Harris’s proposal was akin to “communist price controls,” a concept he termed as “the Maduro Plan.”
Trump’s was flanked by two tables laden with everyday grocery items including milk and cereal. The display was a clear statement, intended to underline his point about the escalating prices under the Biden administration, for which he held Harris responsible.
The event organized by Trump was was a strategic move to distinguish himself from Vice President Harris.
Since assuming the role from President Joe Biden at the helm of the Democratic ticket in late July, Harris has been notably reticent with the press. However, she has stated her intention to conduct her first formal press interview by the end of the month.
