A 26-year-old woman successfully delivered her first born children, quadruplets, at Yangon Central Women’s Hospital on March 6 at around 12:41 p.m, according to Ministry of Health.
The mother, who was pregnant with quadruplets, received prenatal care at the Central Women’s Hospital in Yangon. To provide cesarean delivery, a medical team consisting of professors/ specialists in relevant fields led by the Hospital Administrator of the Central Women’s Hospital-Yangon Hospital, was formed and systematically carried out the operation through coordination and consultation. For the surgery of the quadruplet pregnancy, a team of obstetrician-gynecologists led by Professor/Head of Department (Obstetrics and Gynecology) Professor Dr. Khin May Thin, the Anesthesiology Working Group led by Associate Professor Dr. Cho Cho, a team of neonatal specialists led by Professor/Head of Department (Neonatal) Professor Dr. Nam San San Aye, the hospital’s management members led by the Hospital Administrator Dr. Aung Lin Aye, nursing staff, professional staff, and all support staff collaboratively carried out the operation.

The quadruplets were weighing 1.21 kg, 1.52 kg, 1.28 kg, and 0.91 kg respectively and the mother and babies were said to be in good health. The quadruplets were cared for in the neonatal intensive care unit by professors/specialists in the field, skilled nurses closely giving necessary care and treatment.
