There were over 3,700 people in Gwa Township who have been suffering from skin diseases, according to a rescue team for temporary dsplaced persons in Gwa township.
The rescue team for temporary displaced persons and healthcare workers were collaboratively providing medicines and conducting field surveys for those suffering from skin diseases. Currently, 1791 men and 2006 women have been suffering from skin disease and most of them were the persons of under 18 years, according to field survey.
At present, due to the scarcity of medicines and rising prices, rescue providers were encounter difficulties in providing assistance, according to those involved in relief efforts. The cost of oral and ointment medication for five days instructed by health workers was nearly Ks.20,000. Therefore supporting activities are said to be necessary.
