The State will provide free medicines for liver disease patients starting from February, according to the Ministry of Health.
The free medicines will be for those suffering from fatty liver disease, cirrhosis and hepatitis C, which can lead to liver cancer.

Patients have to take the free medicines for 3 or 6 months. Patients who want to receive free medical treatment are to contact their nearest hospital or health center starting February 1.
The Department of Public Health under the ministry has also provided free shots of cervical cancer vaccine, antivenom for snake bite, rabies vaccine and COVID-19 vaccines in the past year as well as rotavirus vaccine.
