The Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine JN.1, which protects against the highly contagious COVID-19 Omicron variant of the JN.1 strain and subsequent COVID-19 mutations, will be administered in May, according to the Ministry of Health.
The vaccines will be administered under the GAVI Support for C 19 Vaccination Program. From January to April this year, more than 22.8 million people, including those who have never been vaccinated, have been vaccinated with the Pfizer X.B.B 1.5 COVID-19 vaccine.

So far, 10 people have died from COVID-19 in neighboring Thailand from May 4 to 17. Myanmar also reported one new confirmed case in the week from May 11 to 18, according to the Ministry of Health.
