It is necessary to regulate beauty treatments in accordance with law, said Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win. He highlighted this message at the meeting of the Central Committee on Private Healthcare Services on January 16.

Union Minister said that policies have been established to have valid license for health care providers providing services in the private sector, to prevent those who are affected by the existing laws and to utilize human resources properly in collaboration with Myanmar Medical Council,Myanmar Dental Council and Myanmar Nurse and Midwife Council.
Measures were taken to enact the law to supplement and amend the existing law on private health services fulfilling the needs of the time. There was an event of a 27-year old woman who died and found her body in Dagon Seikkan township on January 2, after she had gone to a beauty clinic opened in Thingankyun township in Yangon Region to undergo liposuction.
