Inspection of drinking water supply in Myawaddy Township in Kayin State as a preemptive measure to prevent severe diarrhoea on December 24, according to Township Development Affairs Organization.
The inspection was collectively carried out by District Department of Consumer Affairs, Township Development Affairs Organization, Township Public Health department and respective officials. During the inspection, the conditions of pipelines used by Myawaddy Water Supply Company in water supply in Myawaddy, quality of supplied water and standard of water purification.
Additionally, the team inspected Nice and Sabeahlaing water purification plant and inspected whether the production of purified water bottles is comply with rules and regulations of ministry of Health, whether the bottles are clean, whether the bottles are under direct sunlight and whether the vehicles are covered during transportation.
Two people died and 300 people were infected cholera in Shwe Kokko, Myawaddy District and close monitoring was done along the Thai-Myanmar border areas, Bangkok Post reported referring to Thailand Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister.
