The Yangon City Development Committee has announced that traditional Yein dance competitions will take place at the Yangon City Thingyan Pandal. The competitions will feature many categories such as 12-member Yein open to kindergarten, school, office, and other departmental teams; 16-member Yein open to school, office, and other departmental teams; 20-member Yein open to office and other departmental teams; Open Category 20-member Yein; Men’s Open Category 12-member Yein and ethnic traditional cultural dances.
Myanmar’s Thingyan Festival is being celebrated following its inclusion on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list. Those who are interested in participating in the dance competition can register at the Yangon City Development Committee, Engineering Department (Water Resources Management) located on the 10th Floor, 46th Street, Botahtaung Township, by March 31st.
