The Myanmar Thanakha Performance Competition will be held in Bago Region in March, according to the regional government. The competition will take place from March 8 to 14 at the car park of the Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda Road, Bago Region.
The competition aims to be able to show the state of cooperative efforts being made between social organizations and associations as the Myanmar Thanakha tradition will be submitted to UNESCO soon to be included in the UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
The event will include traditional Chinlone games as well as a market festival and entertainment programs organized by the cultural heritage preservation groups.
