The Myanmar-China Media Dialogue was held at the Park Royal Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on June 1 to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During the discussion, Deputy Minister of Information U Ye Tint expressed his belief that through bilateral media cooperation, the two countries can further strengthen to the Swe Myo Pauk-Phaw Friendship between the two countries. In addition, the timely sharing of information about the Mandalay earthquake by Chinese media has greatly contributed to the search and rescue and reconstruction efforts, said Deputy Minister U Ye Tint.
Ms. Cao Jing, Minister Counsellor of Chinese Embassy , said that the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar pays high regard for the role of media and hosts the Myanmar-China Media Dialogue every three months. She explained that study tours and advanced training programmes are regularly organized for Myanmar media professionals to visit China every year, helping them to witness the genuine facets of Chinese society.
Then, relevant officials participated in discussions on topics such as the future prospects of media cooperation and taking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Myanmar and China as an opportunity, to explore new avenues of cooperation in diplomacy and media through a modern Chinese approach.
