Solar technology research project is a fundamental foundation to address the challenges faced by solar panels in Myanmar’s high temperature and high humidity climate conditions and It will not only improve technological capabilities in renewable energy, but also strengthen regional cooperation, said Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Aung Zay Ya.

It was suggested at the closing ceremony of “Research project on performance characteristics of photovoltaic modules and recommendations for type selection” held at Sky Star Hotel in Yangon in the morning of March 4. The research results were based on field measurements of solar panel types in three locations in Myanmar which have fundamentally different climates, and the suitable types are recommended in the research report, said Professor Dr. Soe Win, Head of the Department of Electrical Power Engineering at Yangon University of Technology.
The technical guideline for the selection of solar panels, based on research results, is an important resource for policy makers, stake holders in industry and researchers, said Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Aung Zay Ya.
