A fundraising concert by film, music, and theater artists will be held at the National Theater (Yangon) for three days starting from May 10 to support the rehabilitation efforts in the areas affected by the Mandalay earthquake, Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn said.
He made the remarks at a coordination meeting on holding a fundraising concert for rehabilitation efforts in areas affected by the Mandalay earthquake held at the Film Promotion Division of the Information and Public Relations Department in Bahan Township, Yangon, on May 5 afternoon.
Now is a time of clearing up the damage caused by the earthquake and carrying out rehabilitation work, and artists are to make efforts to inspire the people affected by the earthquake, the union minister said at the meeting.
It has been seen that artists have contributed to the fundraising activities with their artistic talents whenever the country has faced natural disasters. As artists can captivate the public with their art, they can make the public and civil servants happy and motivated with their art, he said.
The fund-raising concert will be held at the National Theater on Myoma Kyaung Street, Dagon Township, Yangon, for 3 days from May 10 to 12 from 5:30 pm to 10 pm.
