He made the remarks at a China-Myanmar media briefing held at the Wyndham Grand Yangon Hotel in Yangon on the morning of March 20.
He said that thanks to China’s mediation, the Myanmar government and ethnic armed organizations in northern Myanmar have held peace talks in Kunming several times and have reached formal ceasefire agreements. In addition, successful aid projects have been implemented in health, agriculture, poverty reduction and natural disaster relief and good results have been achieved in the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation initiatives. He also mention that pineapples, soybeans and other agricultural products from Myanmar have entered the Chinese market.
In addition, the Chinese Embassy has organized study tours to China, and hosted various activities such as New Year celebrations, a Chinese film festival, a “Chinese language competition”, “The Art of Tea Gathering Various Kinds of blessings”, cultural experience, and sports exchanges have been held. In addition, the Chinese Embassy will continue to work together to eliminate online gambling and online scams, protect the lives and property of local people, and maintain normal relations between countries in the region, said Minister Counselor Dr Zheng Zhihong.
