The Social Securities Board of the Ministry of Labor has issued a statement that earthquake-affected insured workers will receive a 40 percent family support benefit for natural disasters.
The benefit will cover all earthquake-affected insured workers in the earthquake-affected regions — Nay Pyi Taw, regions of Mandalay, Sagaing, Bago and Magway Region and Shan State.
Currently working insured workers, who have paid contributions for February 2025 and have been affected by the earthquake, can apply for the 40 percent family support benefit.

Insured workers must apply for the benefit within 3 months after the statement, and applications submitted after the three months period will not be processed, the statement said.
The Social Security Board will verify the list of eligible workers and the amount of the allowance before allowing the withdrawal of the subsidy. In calculating the 40 percent benefit, if the insured worker’s salary income is 144,000 kyats, the subsidy will be 57,600 kyats.
