As the answer sheets destroyed by the earthquake have not yet been evaluated, students will have to retake the university entrance exam, U Thet Lay Oo, head of education of Sagaing Region, said.
The Mandalay earthquake that struck on March 28 damaged the answer sheets of the university entrance exam, and students who took the university entrance exam from 13 townships in Sagaing Region will have to retake the exam. A total of 13,005 students took the 2025 University Entrance Exam at 35 examination centers in Sagaing Region, and the answer sheets were sent to Mandalay University, U Thet Lay Oo said.

It has been reported that answer sheets of 62,954 university entrance exam takers from Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region, and Kachin States had been at the main building of Mandalay University that was damaged by the earthquake that caused a fire to destroy 376, 956 answer sheets of the exam takers.
Therefore, the university entrance exam will be retaken from June 16 to 21. Candidates from 12 townships in Sagaing Region will have to retake the exam at the original exam centers. But, as the schools in Sagaing Township that were opened as exam centres were damaged by the earthquake, candidates have to retake the exam at Sagaing University of Education.
