To provide water to the people in the townships in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory hit by the Mandalay earthquake, the Nay Pyi Taw Fire Services Department is using several water tankers to provide door- to- door free water delivery service.
Townships such as Zabhu Thiri, Uttara Thiri, Pobba Thiri, Dekhina Thiri, Tatkone, Pyinmana, and Lewe in Nay Pyi Taw are facing issues related to drinking water.
Free water distribution to people facing drinking water shortages began on March 30. Initially, there were many difficulties due to water shortages. Some residents of the Sukha Tawin Public Rental Housing in Zabuthiri Township said that later, they were relieved as the Fire Brigade members provided free door-to-door water delivery service.
To provide water to people facing drinking water shortages, water from the Yan Aung Myay Dam and the Set Set Yo Dam is being pumped up and distributed free of charge.
