The Indian Embassy in Myanmar has announced that MoUs on three new small development projects have been signed between Myanmar and India.

Dr. San San Aye, director-general of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement of Union of Myanmar and Shri Ashish Sharma, deputy chief of mission of Indian Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar, signed the MoUs, which focus on social infrastructure designed to promote gender empowerment livelihood linked skilling initiatives and support marginalized sections of society, on January 21 in Nay Pyi Taw. Two of the projects involve support for vocational training and classroom infrastructure at Home Science School across 10 regions and states in the country. The projects will be implemented in 11 cities including Yangon, Mandalay, Mawlamyine, Taungoo, Myitkyina, Pyapon, Pathein, Ywangan, Sittway, Hakha and Dawei, the announcement said.
The third project will focus on operating vocational training and providing teaching aids for the rehabilitation of ex-drug addicts in five regions and states including Yangon, Mandalay, Kachin, Shan and Kayin. The Government of India remains steadfast in its commitment to support high impact community development infrastructure in Myanmar, the announcement said.
