Amid the plans underway to open youth centers in regions and states, the first youth center in Yangon Region was opened by the Yangon Region Youth Affairs Committee in Thakayta Township on March 23.
The newly opened youth center is designed to provide young people with a place to learn, find information and engage in literature, art, and educational discussions. The center includes a library, internet hall, meeting hall, training hall, art hall, multi-purpose hall and sports hall. The youth center is opened with the aim of ensuring all-round development of young people.
The Yangon Region Government has also provided more than 410 million kyats for construction and renovation of the youth center and one-year consumption of electricity. It is also planned to open youth centers in other regions and states.
