Earthquake awareness and preparation should be carried out, said U Saw Htwe Zaw, vice chairman of the Myanmar Earthquake Committee.
He made the remarks in response to One News question after a working coordination meeting of the earthquake safety inspection committee held at the Ministry of Construction in Nay Pyi Taw on April 23 afternoon.

Earthquake clinics providing earthquake awareness services have now been opened in Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw. Although the quality of residential buildings has been inspected in some townships in Yangon before, further inspections should be conducted, U Saw Htwe Zaw said.
The Myanmar Engineering Council, the Federation of Myanmar Engineering Societies, High-rise and Public Building Projects Committee-HPBC and the Myanmar Earthquake Committee are working together in the rehabilitation and education activities after the March 28 earthquake in Myanmar.
