The Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association is planning to conduct a free training course on cotton and textile in collaboration with an INGO, according to the association.
The course is aimed to provide job opportunities for young people, and skills and knowledge related to the cotton and textile industry including dyeing, weaving and knitting will be taught at the course.

Discussions are currently underway to conduct the free training course, and further information will be provided after the next meeting to be held on February 7. Currently, as more workers are going abroad to work, the local garment industry is facing a shortage of skilled workers, and new workers are being recruited and trained. In addition, some garment entrepreneurs said that the garment industry may be affected by difficulties in obtaining raw materials, electricity, and skilled workers.
Local garment factories are increasingly using the latest fully automatic machines that can produce more products with fewer workers due to a shortage of skilled workers, according to the circle of entrepreneurs in the garment industry.
