The enrollment for the 2025-2026 academic year began on May 22 and over 1.2 million students enrolled on that day, according to the statement by the State Administration Council Information Team. The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has designated enrollment week for high school, middle school, and primary schools from May 22 to June 1, with schools set to open on June 2.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education is giving students free school textbooks, stationery, and uniforms without charging any fees. The chief ministers of states and regions, commanders of military command and officials, departmental officials, officials from the Ministry of Education and departmental officials visited and encouraged the students and coordinated with them to fulfil the necessary measures. Over 6 million students were enrolled for the 2024–2025 school year, and over 97 percent of those pupils attended classes, according to reports.
