The Ministry of Education has announced that students who will retake the matriculation exam in regions and states whose answer sheets were destroyed by fire as a result of the Mandalay earthquake will get admit cards at the appropriate examination centres beginning June 1.
The Mandalay earthquake, which occurred on March 28, destroyed 376,956 answer sheets of 6,2954 candidates in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay Region, Sagaing Region, and Kachin State. Therefore, the matriculation exam for areas and states whose answer papers were destroyed by fire will be held from June 16 to 21, without holidays.
The state will provide students who retake the exam with the appropriate texts and other supplies. Furthermore, university professors, lecturers, and basic education school teachers have provided intensive subject-specific trainings in designated schools for students who will retake the exam.
