The Sagaing Region Education Office reported that approximately Ks. 19 billion is needed to repair the schools that were damaged. This destruction has impacted the education of more than 17,000 students.
The Mandalay earthquake, which occurred on May 28, damaged 58 schools and office buildings under the Basic Education Department in the Sagaing Region, resulting in fatalities. Temporary school buildings will be constructed before the next academic year while the damaged buildings are being rebuilt.
