The total number of earthquakes including the Mandalay earthquake and its aftershocks has reached 184 as of May 28, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
The aftershocks occurred near Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Sagaing and Shan State, with the lowest magnitude being 2.8 on the Richter scale and the highest magnitude being 5.9 on the Richter scale. The Mandalay earthquake which struck on March 28 caused extensive damage in Mandalay, Sagaing, Nay Pyi Taw, and Inle Lake, destroying ancient heritage sites, temples, pagodas, and residential buildings.

According to news estimates, the Mandalay earthquake has so far killed 3,839 people in six regions/states, injured over 5,000 others, and rescued 653 survivors.
