There have been 180 aftershocks until May 25 after the Mandalay earthquake, according to statements released by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
The aftershocks occurred in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Sagaing and Shan State with the lowest magnitude being 2.8 and the highest magnitude being 5.9.

The Mandalay earthquake caused extensive damage in Mandalay, Sagaing, Nay Pyi Taw and Inlay Lake, destroying ancient heritage sites, temples, pagodas and residential buildings. In addition, the Mandalay earthquake has so far claimed more than 3,700 lives in six regions and states. More than 5,000 people were injured due to the earthquake, and 653 survivors were found and rescued, according to the statements.
