Rice shops in Yangon have been experiencing a decline in sales recently, and the prices are stable, according to rice retailers and wholesalers in Yangon.

As there are more buyers of ordinary rice than fine rice, ordinary rice sales are at a fast pace. The price of a bag of new fine rice is 125,000 to 140,000 kyats and Shwebo Pawhsan 152,000 kyats, and a bag of new ordinary rice is around 80,000 kyats, according to an official from Shwe Moe Rice Trading in Yangon.
The Myanmar Rice Federation has set the reference price for January at a minimum of 73,000 kyats to 150,000 kyats per bag, depending on the type of rice.
