The Department of Trade under the Ministry of Commerce said that it is processing import licenses to import goods for relief and rehabilitation work for the earthquake-affected people on the same day, depending on foreign currency categories. In addition to medicines and medical supplies needed for the health of people in earthquake-affected areas, the “One Stop Service Team” under the Ministry of Commerce is working to import construction materials for rehabilitation from abroad in time.

Currently, import licenses are being processed on the same day to import medicines, steel bars, zinc and cement, as well as building materials, electrical equipment, water supply equipment, factory ground equipment and vehicle spare parts, which are needed for the Mandalay earthquake. The Ministry of Commerce has currently issued import licenses for medicines and medical supplies worth US$7.40 million.
Similarly, import licenses have been granted for materials needed for reconstruction work worth US$19.039 million, including steel bars, galvanized iron sheets, steel products, cement, construction materials, electrical equipment, water-related items, factory ground equipment, and vehicle spare parts.

Currently, government ministries, organizations, and donors are collaboratively working to provide relief and rehabilitation services to earthquake-affected people.
