There will be no domestic shortage of fuel as arrangements have been made in advance to continuously import the fuel with 29 ships in February, according to the Supervisory Committee on Fuel Oil Import, Storage and Distribution.
According to the committee, currently, six fuel carrying ships arrived at the Thilawa Oil Terminal, three ships at the seaport and one on the way, and 10 ships loaded with fuel in foreign countries are ready. A citizen is of the opinion that since many ships carrying fuel are expected to enter this month, there will be no shortage of fuel and that fuel prices may drop.
In order to ensure domestic fuel sufficiency, a month’s worth of fuel has been imported and stored as a reserve, and fuel is being supplied and distributed timely with an enough number of tankers from Thilawa to the entire country. Fuel prices have been decreasing in a row by 85 kyats to 115 kyats per liter, according to the committee.
