Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe met with the Sultan of Brunei on January 23 afternoon during his official visit to Brunei to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, according to the statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the meeting, they discussed matters such as promoting multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries, enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, defense, health, education and people-to-people exchanges and closer cooperation in regional and international affairs including ASEAN.

In addition, Union Minister U Than Swe visited the construction site of the new Myanmar Embassy in the Diplomatic Quarter on December 22 morning and laid the foundation stone at the site. After that, he visited two of the three plots of land owned by the embassy under the diplomatic land exchange agreement between the two countries and observed the situation of building houses for the embassy staff.
