The Myanmar Port Authority has announced that 58 cargo ships will enter Myanmar in March. Of the ships, SITC shipping line will be the largest with 13 ships, followed by COSCO with nine ships and Samudera and Maersk A/S with five ships each.
Myanmar received 62 cargo ships in January and 53 in February.

Through the sea route, the country imports goods such as raw materials for the garment industry, construction materials and exports agricultural, marine and forestry products. In 2023, 629 cargo ships entered Myanmar, and in 2024, 633 cargo ships entered.
