Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Myanmar has reached nearly $3 million in April of the 2025-2026 financial year, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).
At the beginning of the current financial year, two foreign investment enterprises entered the country, with an investment volume of $2.854 million. In the first month of the financial year, two enterprises entered the manufacturing sector from China. As of the end of April 2025, 53 countries and territories had invested in Myanmar, with Singapore, China, and Thailand making the most investments.

Of the 12 economic sectors, the sectors with the most investments were the energy sector, the oil and gas sector, and the manufacturing sector. The energy sector accounted for 28.34 percent of the total investment, the oil and gas sector accounted for 24.69 percent of the total investment, the manufacturing sector accounted for 14.49 percent of total investment, according to the Myanmar Investment Commission.
