The Upper Biluchaung Hydropower Project, which will generate an average of 134.4 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, has been completed 45 per cent, the Ministry of Electric Power said.
The project, being built on Belu Creek in Nyaungshwe Township, Shan State (South), will consist of two power plants with an installed capacity of 20.4 megawatts and 10 megawatts.

Once completed, the project will provide an average annual power generation of 90.1 million kilowatt-hours from Plant No. 1 and 44.3 million from Plant No. 2, for a total of 134.4 million kilowatt-hours, and will be connected to the national electricity grid for transmission and distribution.
Minister for Electric Power U Nyan Tun, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, and officials visited the construction site of the Upper Biluchaung Hydroelectric Project on the morning of June 14.
