A business idea competition named Starting Point will be held starting March 30 at Shwe Htut Tin Compound in Tamway Township, Yangon. Entrepreneurs who started operating macro, small and medium businesses and those who will start businesses can participate in the competition.
In addition, those who have an idea to start a business but are having difficulties due to lack of financial resources and entrepreneurs from various business sectors can also participate in the competition. It is learnt that people aged 18 to 40 are allowed to compete regardless of race or religion.
Only first prize will be awarded at the competition, and the cash prize will be 50 million kyats. The judges of the competition will include U Tun Tun Naing, Chairman and Group CEO of Blue Ocean Investment Company Limited which has invested in 14 domestic and foreign companies and established the first call center in Myanmar.
Along with U Tun Tun Naing, U Nay Aung Ko, owner of Thamada Buddha Images and Monk’s Requisites Centre, Managing Director Dr Kay Thari Kyaw of Kathryn Beauty and Sein & Mya Mattress (Diamond & Emerald) and Managing Director Daw Ei Poe Phyu of Shwe Zee Kwat Food Manufacturing & Int’l Export Company Limited will also serve as judges. A press conference on the filming and broadcast of the Starting Point Business Idea Competition will be held at Hexagon Studio, Shwe Htut Tin Compound, on March 30, the day the competition begins.
