Currently, solar panels are in high demand at electrical appliance replacement stores, but there is a shortage of supplies, according to solar related appliance stores.
Over the previous years, there was a shortage of solar panels and related appliances were in shortage only after Thingyan, but this year, due to the high demand, the supplies are no longer available, an official from YWA Engineering Company said. Currently, the prices of solar related appliances have increased slightly compared to the year earlier but not significantly.
Prices for solar panels for homes and accessories range from about 1.5 to 8 million kyats and that for commercial and office from about 3 to 15 million kyats.
