Currently, the prices of construction material including brick, sand, pebble and cement remain at a high level, according to construction material market.

The current price is about Ks.25,000 for a unit of hundred cubit foot of coarse sand, about Ks.110,000 for a unit of hundred cubit foot of pebble ,Ks.280 for a normal quality brick, Ks. 300 for a machine-made brick, Ks.30,000 for a hundred cubit foot of earth, Ks.50,000 for a hundred cubit foot of construction and demolition debris, Ks.60,000 for a hundred cubit foot of broken brick and more than Ks.20,000 for a bag of cement.
Some of construction enterprises face difficulties due to currently rising prices of cement as well as the shortage of materials, said U Myo Myint, a construction entrepreneur.
In addition, the prices of imported steel bars and other construction material are still in a high level. The prices rise because of various reasons such as transport charges, rising labour charges and raw material prices, foreign exchange and import license difficulties.
The construction cost rises three fold because of rising prices of construction materials, according to construction entrepreneurs.
