The government is aiming at investing in various sectors including construction sector, said the Vice Mayor of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government Mr Jiang Duntao. Recently, a delegation led by Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant met with the Vice Mayor of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government during a visit to China.
During the meeting, the Union Minister discussed the exchange of modern technologies and cooperation in Myanmar’s urban development, road and bridge construction sectors. the Vice Mayor of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government Mr Jiang Duntao said Chongqing Municipal People’s Government aimed to invest in various sectors including construction for the continuous development of Myanmar and advised to meet the investors and technology companies in China.
If the construction companies in Chongqing invest in Myanmar, it will contribute to the development of Myanmar construction sector, said U Myo Myint, a construction business owner. In nine months from April to December in 2024-2025 financial year, foreign direct investment(FDI) US$.600 million entered into Myanmar and China is the second largest among the foreign investors, according to data released by Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).
