The Myanmar Port Authority said that 62 container ships are expected to enter Myanmar in January 2025.
Among the ships will be the largest number SITC Shipping Line with 13 ships followed by COSCO Shipping Lines with nine ships and SAMUDERA and MAERSK A/S with six ships each.

Last year, 633 container ships entered Myanmar, an increase of four ships compared to 2023. The Myanmar Port Authority announced in June 2023 that Yangon ports will be able to accommodate larger ships than before after the discovery of a new waterway, the Kings Bank Channel, in the Yangon River.

Textile raw materials and construction materials are imported via sea, and agricultural, marine and forestry products are exported.
