U Tin Aung, Chairman of the Mandalay Electricity Supply Corporation, said that the buildings that collapsed in Mandalay Region due to the Mandalay earthquake were not charged with meter bills and no meter bills have been issued.
U Tin Aung said that the earthquake caused damage to electricity substations, power lines and meter boxes in Mandalay Region. Currently, the collapsed buildings are in a registered state without issuing bills and meter readings have been suspended, he said.

In the Mandalay Region, the Mandalay Electricity Supply Corporation installed nearly 1.2 million meter boxes and supplied electricity. More than 6,000 boxes were damaged due to the Mandalay earthquake. Electricity users have also been informed to notify their respective townships if their meter boxes installed in their homes or buildings were damaged due to the earthquake.
