More than 450 rooms will be added soon to rent from the buildings under construction at Thukha Dagon housing estate, according to Yangon Region Department of Urban & Housing Development.
Thukha Dagon Public Rental Housing Project has a total of 194 buildings that include 3,104 apartments from December 2023 up-to-date and more than 2,600 apartments have been rented out. 73 buildings in the first phase in December 2023, 50 buildings in June 2024 in the second phase and 71 buildings in October 2024 in the third phase were constructed and 43 buildings were allowed to rent by drawing lots.
The rental fees per month for a room at Thukha Dagon Rental Public Housing are Ks. 67,000 on the first floor, Ks.60,000 on the second floor, Ks.55,000 on the third floor and Ks.46,000 on the fourth floor and the tenure for lease of the apartment is 5 years. Property Leasing and Regulatory Committee of Thukha Dagon Rental Public Housing has warned the public to be aware of the financial scams related to the public rental housing.
