The prices of green vegetables such as tomato, cabbage, cauliflower, carrot, beans, chayote, mustard, and potatoes from the mountainous Shan State are scarce and the prices are rising due to the natural disasters, according to Shan greengrocers in Magway.
Shan green veggies have been ordered and sold because green vegetables are no longer available in the Magway Region, according to Shan greengrocers. Shan green veggies are not accessible in sufficient quantities, therefore sales are declining while prices rise, according to Ma Khaing Khaing, a Shan greengrocer at Kantha Market in Magway.

In recent years, Shan green veggie prices usually increase only around August, but this year prices have been gradually increasing since June. Currently, tomato is the highest price in the market. The market is rising, but there are few buyers at the resale site, so sales have dropped by more than half, said Shan greengrocers.
