More than 120 overseas employment agencies have failed to pay fines by sector, and some agencies will have to pay additional monthly fines for not paying fines by the due date, according to the statement of the Ministry of Labor of the Union of Myanmar.

There are 123 overseas employment agencies that have been suspended from submitting new job offers for non-payment of taxes and failure to pay fines by sector, and 16 of them will be charged a monthly additional fine of 100,000 kyats for not paying fines by the due date.
Most of the agencies that have been fined are those that failed to submit evidence of family remittances from overseas workers and those that do not send workers, an official of an overseas employment agency, said. The right to submit new job demand letters is also suspended until the fines are paid. As family remittances are scrutinized every 4 months to ensure that job contract lists of workers are presented on time, the agencies are notified to submit relevant reports even though they have any proof of remittances from the workers or not.
