A shortage of cement which is important raw material in construction occurs in the market at the moment, according to construction entrepreneurs and building material dealers.
Currently, some of the construction contractors are facing difficulties due to the rise of cement price as well as shortages of construction materials, said construction contractors. Last year, a sack of cement was Ks. 10,000 , but now the price is from Ks.20,000 to about Ks.30,000.
Apart from cement, the prices of other materials including brick, sand and pebble continue in a high position, according to construction material market. It is learnt from the construction entrepreneurs that the construction cost rose more than three times before due to the rise of construction materials.
