The Myanmar Overseas Employment Agency Association (MOEAA) has announced that licensed overseas employment agencies will be allowed to submit new demand letters only after the workers with employment contracts have been sent abroad.
Regarding the report by the agencies to grant permission to send workers to relevant countries, permission will be granted for the workers who have signed employment contracts to work in Thailand and other countries before January 30. The permission will be only for such type of workers who remains to be sent to relevant countries, and only after that, new demand letters will be allowed to be submitted, which means the agencies will be informed of the new demand letters after sending the remaining workers with the employment contracts to the relevant countries, the announcement said.
In addition, each agency will be further notified of the list of limited number of workers regarding the applications submitted to the department after January 30. An official of MOEAA said that it will soon publish overseas employment agencies’ applications for sending workers to relevant countries and the list of a limited number of workers.
The Ministry of Labor has announced that the issuance of Overseas Worker Identification Card (OWIC) for working abroad will resume starting from March 20 after being temporarily suspended.
