To carry out rehabilitation work in earthquake-affected areas, Max Cement Taungfila Cement Factory has been reducing cement prices since April 23. The Max Cement Taungfila Cement Factory is said to be producing 1,500 to 1,800 tonnes of cement daily.
Buying cement for the reconstruction of earthquake-affected buildings of public and ministries, it will now be sold at Ks.17,500 per bag instead of Ks.20,000. Similarly, cement for the reconstruction of earthquake-affected residential buildings will now be sold at Ks.20,000 per bag instead of Ks.23,000.

The price reduction is aimed at ensuring that in the reconstruction process, public places including schools, hospitals, and government buildings can be used as soon as possible and that earthquake-affected residential buildings can be repaired and rebuilt as soon as possible before the rainy season.
Despite price reduction, systematic and daily management has been carried out to ensure that production, distribution and quality are not affected and that the products are delivered to the right consumers. After the Mandalay earthquake on March 28, cement prices rose to more than Ks.40,000 per bag, but some construction entrepreneurs said that the prices of most building materials such as steel bars and zinc sheets remained normal.
