During the clean-up operation conducted in Block-B and Block-C of the Sky Villa Condo in Mandalay, jewelry worth more than 2.6 billion kyats was found on May 22 morning and handed over to its owners, according to the statement of Myanmar Fire Services Department.
MFSD, with the use of machinery, carried out the clean-up operation and found gold items worth more than 2.6 billion kyats in Block-B’s Room No. G-8 including gold bracelets, gold rings, and gold chains, one 2-ticlal gold bar, 18 small packages of Mogok stones, five raw stones, seven polished stones, two passport books, three car license books and important documents through officials, the statement said.
In addition, during the clean-up operation at the building, one male body was recovered on May 22, one female body on May 20, one female body on May 19, one male body on May 18, one male body on May 16 and bodies of one male and one female on May 15 in Block-B and Block-C of the Sky Villa. So far, 52 survivors have been rescued from the collapsed Sky Villa Condo that was hit by the Mandalay earthquake and more than 100 bodies have been recovered, according to the statement.
