The implementations are carrying out to conduct interconnect different digital payment transactions using CBM’s MMQR (Myanmar Quick Response), according to the Myanmar Central Bank. The awareness event to introduce Digital Payment Switch that can carry out interoperable different digital payment transactions by using CBM’s Myanmar Quick Response (MMQR) was held on January 27.
MMQR MMQR code (National Level Standard) will be able to interoperate all Mobile Wallets and it can create a safe payment system and also reduce the use of cash, said CBM Governor Daw Than Than Swe.
The entrepreneurs who use MMQR will be able to pay merchants by using only one wallet of their choice. The merchants can receive the payments by using only MMQR and will be able to receive money from all wallets without using various QRs.
Furthermore, interconnections will be made between ASEAN and other countries in the region for the foreign tourists to be able to use MMQR in Myanmar.
